Our only purpose in life is to Love!
We all know someone that has been affected by Cancer, either a family member, a friend, a colleague, a teacher. And during that journey the most important ingredient for healing is Love! There is nothing like the power of love and the incredible healing that can come from recieving and experiencing unconditional love.
My goal is to create thoughtful gifts for cancer patients and survivors, we all need a little more love in our life. I hope that my little art studio and the hearts that are made with love by hand will bring a joy and wellness and a lot of love to your loved ones. Stitch by stitch, brush stroke by brush stroke, each gift comes to life in the hope it will bring comfort, hope and healing to your loved ones.
Who I am and how this project and my little little art studio began...
When I was younger, I would spend hours on end making images with colour dots with my Brite Light. As a teenager, I borrowed my dad's manual focus Minolta camera and started making images from photograms to and black and white photos. I photographed everything that caught my eye and eventually got my own camera, a Canon AE-1 and it went everywhere with me. Now I work mainly with a digital camera to capture beauty all around me.
I like experimenting with different lenses and get blurry backgrounds specially behind a beautiful flowers so their beauty can shine. Being in Nature has been my sanctuary, a beautiful flower filled garden with gently scented roses is heaven. Or, being by the coast and feeling the warm breeze blow through my hair.
One of my most memorable moments was being at a botanical garden at opening time, only the the trees, the flowers, the bees, the birds, the gardeners and me and I felt so connected, more than I had felt in years. I started learning watercolour painting and it has brought me so much joy, I feel connected to the flowers and trees when I am painting, it is a meditation, a prayer, an activity that I find very grounding and healing.
My goal is to share with Cancer patients and survivors the beauty of nature and how connecting to nature has healing power!
I have discovered that passing a rose petal over your jaw line before sleep really relaxes the jaw and helps you sleep better.
When you need to relax, going for a walk in the forest and say hello to the majestic trees. I have learned through shared knowledge, that there is a Mother tree and that all trees are interconnected through their roots, hence there is an amazing energy when you go in the forest for a walk, or go forest bathing. Trees sweat and when you walk in the woods you receive the refreshing healing mist from their leaves. Hugging a tree is so powerful and comforting and so magical. Not everyone is blessed to live near ancient forest or near a magical garden; so, I paint and create fabric arts with flowers to bring the garden and the forest to you or your loved one. A little piece of art for their walls or to have near by.
My hope is that every Cancer patient that receives one of my hearts, all made with love by hand by me, will bring them a smile and some joy and that every time they see your gift, they will feel hope, peace and healing.
Plants go through Autumn, and Winters where plants go into a sort of hybernation, and there is always the hope of Spring when the buds of the new flowers start to appear. Spring and Summer bring us a bounty of flowers and fruits to enjoy and to nourish us. There is nothing more special than seeing the first buds of flowers starting to come alive again in the Spring. Nature brings so much. hope and I truly believe there is hope of healing for all Cancer patients.
Special thanks goes to BC Cancer and Inspire Health for the dedicated care and support they provide to Cancer patients during their journey.
May you or your loved one be loved, may you or your loved find hope, may you or your loved one find healing.
With much Love, I send prayers your way,
Coni xoxo
